Edna Wiley, M.S., LMFT-A

My philosophy concerning relationships is founded on the concept that loving and emotional relationships with others are essential aspects of our overall well-being. Therefore, my sincere passion is to help foster loving, healthy, and happier marriages and relationships. I will work to help couples reconnect and communicate in a respectful, enlightening, and loving way.
Professionally, I completed my Master’s in Science degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Texas Woman’s. University. This is where I truly developed a passion for working with couples. I also have an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. Before beginning my journey to becoming a therapist, I spent many years working in finance. But something was missing, so I made the decision to switch careers. I believe having a background in the corporate world helps me understand the struggle that many of my professional clients face.
My focus is helping clients build positive relationships by implementing research-based methods, such as Cognitive Behavioral and Emotional Focused strategies, that can inspire hope in clients and will help motivate them to commit to the process of change. In my sessions, I focus on helping couples understand and regulate their emotions, improve communication, and build trust and intimacy. I also emphasize the importance of building positive interactions and strengthening the friendship at the core of every relationship.
I take pleasure in serving my clients and delight in the opportunity to play a small role in the overall success of marriages and relationships. I believe that therapy should be a safe space where couples can be honest and vulnerable with each other. I’m also direct when needed and not afraid to challenge couples when necessary.
In addition to my work as a therapist, I serve in various ministries at my local church, including Couples Ministry, and am a certified Marriage Mentor.
