Relationships can affect every aspect of our lives when they are in conflict. It takes courage to seek help, and it can be difficult to take that first step. I am so glad you are here and that you have found my practice.
I am here to help you and your partner repair your relationship and find each other again. After more than a decade of studying relationships, I am now more aware than ever that there is nothing more important to our health and happiness than the people we love.
I will work to help both you and your partner identify the deeper issues that have caused damage to the relationship. I will also teach you strategies and techniques to help improve communication so that you and your partner can support each other, even when you disagree.
As a therapist, I take an integrative and collaborative approach to therapy. I have advanced training in relationships and use research-based methods to get results. I prioritize making therapy a good experience for everyone and making each session judgment and blame-free.
Over the years, I have focused my research and education on betrayal, trauma, and infidelity. The damage caused by infidelity can be devastating, but I am dedicated to developing and implementing effective treatment methods to support couples through infidelity repair.
Professionally, I have earned both my Master’s degree and a Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family therapy from the Texas Woman’s University and an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Texas at Arlington.
My growth as a therapist has focused on training to support my clients using proven, research-based methods. I have advanced training in emotion-focused therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and sex therapy. Additionally, I am trained in Gottman and Relational Life Therapy. Currently, I am under supervision, working towards my full certification in sex therapy through AASECT.
When not working at my practice, I teach graduate marriage and family therapy courses and supervise new therapists. I am also currently working on publishing research on couples, trauma, and health, which I have presented at local and national conferences.
